This is so fun and one of my favorite Christmas crafts. I made this a couple years ago and still love it! I found it here Buzzings of a Queen Bee I love her blog, so many fun ideas.
She has a great tutorial, here's mine...
Supplies:
A picture frame, I got mine at Roberts crafts, but you could find a great one at a thrift store or one you have around your house. A piece of sheet metal from Lowes, craft paint, any color you want, mine is Barn Red, scrapbook paper, sticker numbers, magnets, modge podge, glue gun and paper mache boxes.
First you'll want to paint your frame and let that dry, I didn't prime mine first so it took a lot of coats. After it was dry I brushed on some glossy modge podge.
I then painted every. single. paper mache box and lid with Heirloom white spray paint, then used modge podge to put different Christmas paper on the box lids, adding a glittery number to each one. You could get away with not painting your boxes at all if you wanted that look!
Hot glued a magnet to the back and Ta-da! A fun Christmas countdown calendar!
Then you can add little chocolates, trinkets or paper with some fun things to do written on it i.e., Go see Christmas lights, make cocoa, take a gift to a shelter, make cookies...you get the idea!
